No Fun (1978)
Louisville's first punk band, featuring Tara Key,
Tony Pinotti & Bruce Witsiepe (vocals and
guitars), Carty Bledsoe (bass) and Dean Thomas (drums). They recorded an
album's worth of material with Gary Falk, but nothing was released. Tony & Bruce
moved to NYC with Rik and Dave Letendre of The I-holes to form Circle
X. Dean went on to join Levi and The Rockats.
Carty returned to her art. Tara, of course, took her arsenal over to the Babylon
Dance Band.
A cool photo Tara had, plus a small reprise of the
Cloisters roll.
A pair of photos supplied by Joe Frey.
Yea! Joe Frey comes through again! The penultimate show at the old Galt House. Bless him for scanning the raggedy-ass negatives so I didn't have to. In addition to the negs, he gave me the full set of snapshots of the Second Street bridge.
An orphaned shot from Nedelkoff's Barn 7.7.78. Compare and contrast with the various 1980 shows shot there!
Forget how this image came my way. It looks like the master for this town's very first punk poster! The shot is of the band practicing at LSA. Check the contact sheet used as the backdrop for the flier for the following June 10th show--sure wish I had those negatives!
