"Malig"

Malignant Growth at the Windmill. It's funny how band nicknames evolve. Though most famously known later as MFG--for "Malignant [naughty adjective] Growth"--back in 1980 everyone called them "The Maligs" or simply "The Growth" . . . I'd never known why the Windmill had this nautical theme going around the dance floor. With all the pier posts and coiled rope, it looked like a goddamn Long John Silvers! Chris A. recalls them as leftovers from the location's previous incarnation as "Lafitte's Disco" . . . What?!? Pirate Boogie!!! Let there be no further doubt that Louisville is the greatest city in the nation! We've always been a town of gentlemanly swashbucklers!
