The Louisville School of Art in Anchorage is famous for hatching No Fun and The I-Holes. In 1979 the place shat out another batch of arty punks. None of us lasted more than the year, and most of us quit early. We just hung around 1069 and painted each other.

The Depictors and the Depictees are:

Cathy Irwin--LSA; Dickbrains/guitar; resident

Doug Maxson--LSA; Dickbrains/vocals; resident

Sam Koch--LSA; resident

Alec Irwin--Dickbrains/bass

Charles Schultz--Dickbrains/drums; resident

Tari Barr--LSA; Dickbrains/vocals; resident

Barb Fowler--LSA; resident

Michel Virenque--resident

Adrienne Fowler--resident

Michel was Cathy's French boyfriend--they lived a couple months in the cellar, which was entered, most inconveniently, from a trapdoor in the bathroom. Soon after Barb moved in, her older sister also moved in, and then Karen moved in her 7-year-old daughter Adrienne. They all slept together in the tiny bedroom. I got a couple nice paintings out of it. As for the rest, one day I climbed onto the roof of 1069 and did a large drawing and then went back down and turned it into a canvas. During a change in tenancy in the upstairs apartment, I snuck up and stole a shelf out of the only closet. I cut it in half and ruined my linoleum blades carving the only two wood prints of my life, both of the house from which they were made.

Meanwhile, in the future, in the Furthermore Gallery, I plan to put up a show of about 75 additional pieces I did back then directly related to life at the old punk rock homestead.
